Dave Legato

His music career started in 2005 when he first signed the contract with the “R” Club in Holešov, known all over Moravia then. We may now say it was where he was regularly invited to for Friday nights and thus started his so-called “apprenticeship”. A thank you belongs to R-Club; mainly to its owner of that time, Mr Fuksa. Jiří Pavlištík also became a necessary ring of the chain in Dave Legato´s very beginnings, and Pavlištík also offered the basics and gave him a chance to play on several other different stages. In 2006, Dave experienced mixing vinyl and he soon began the career of an artist, using digital record player Numark CDX, having accepted the Dave R. G. nick.

2007

„Partyagency“ accepted Dave R. G. and he signed a contract with Showtech Prague s.r.o. – an exclusive Numark and UDG technologies importer within the Czech Republic. The company also brought to life “Numark Clubforce Mixparade”. Dave R. G. found his position in music styles of house – electro – progressive and had many more opportunities to appear on club scenes. Dave R. G. started cooperation with famous DJs and producers and also settled in giving his own club nights in Party Hall Arx in Olomouc.

2008

This is a year to mark Dave R. G.´s having been chosen together with other 60 DJs to fill the pages of a book called Elektronická hudba v Česku (Czech Electronic Music). The book consists of analysis as well as interviews with Czech DJs. He also functioned as the godfather to the book. Dave R. G. was accepted in the “Brainstormdjs” agency where there were other club parties to be organized, such as Club Night or Right Solution. He became residential in the exclusive “Metro” club in Zlín for the two years to follow.

2009

This is a year to be remembered by juicy offers (and also addressed from abroad). He has performed in many places in Czech Lands as well as Moravia and developed great cooperation with famous names on the Czech dance scene. His colleagues became a part of his show and he became even better known once again. “In the Name of 2009” is a mixture of tunes covering his successes and proves to be a very successful move itself.

2010

2010 is a year of changes and its beginning was spiced by world fame. The product “In the Name of 2009” was praised by DJ MAG and selected for an international competition Next Generation DJ. He topped the list with other four competitors, leaving the rest (original number of competitors was 3 400) behind. Various sources are now speaking of a new Czech talent. Dave R. G. became Dave Legato earlier on this year, mainly because there was a strong need of a “full” name and also because of planning his own production and therefore a name standing firmly on its own feet was inevitable. Dave Legato is a founding member of DJ+Agency /formed by other successful DJs – Luppi Clarke, Mr. Point and 2B Project/. This formation of young DJs performed immediately in great clubs.
